Is it really Monday?
It is? That means one week from today Ink will be available to buy and download—Yay! To celebrate I’m starting a contest today. On March 1st I’m going to give away a download of Ink in the Blood and a bag of Ink swag (pictured on the right side of this post) to someone. All you have to do to enter is post your favorite food in the comments section of this blog entry before Midnight central time on Feb 28th. Then, on March 1st, I’ll randomly choose a comment and post the winners name. So make sure you check back on March 1st to see if you’ve won. I’ll try to post the winner as early as possible.
I’m going to get the ball rolling. My favorite food is cheesecake. I can’t resist the stuff. Once, my husband and I got a cheesecake for our anniversary. We both had a piece for dessert and then put it away for the night. The next day he went off to work and I snacked on a half a piece for breakfast, a half a piece for a mid-morning snack, a half a piece for lunch…well, I think you can see where this is going. When he came home, I was horribly sick. It didn’t take him long to figure out why. He went into the fridge and saw I’d eaten half the cheesecake. After that, I wasn’t able to look at cheesecake for a year or so, but I’m all better now.
Now it’s your turn. Are you a sweets kind of person, savory? What’s the food you can’t resist?

My favorite food is ice cream. Not only is ice cream very tasty but it is associated with happy memories birthday parties, beautiful summer days, & other special occasions. It was special as a kid to walk up to the Dairy Queen window & order some ice cream. I often road my bike to get ice cream during summer vacation, then when I got older my friends would pile in the car and head over to Kurly Q for lunch.
ReplyDeleteI love sweets. Especially chocolate. I love chocolate chip cookies as well. Cheesecake is good, especially when it's made with chocolate :).
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the release of your book! Where dod you get all that promo stuff?
Mmm....Kurly Q! I haven't had them in ages. They do have very good ice cream and chili dogs, too. They're the best I've ever tasted :)
ReplyDeleteAubrie- Chocolate is always good :) I buy the chocolate pudding cups for my boys and always have to eat at least one out of the pack. Isn't that sad?
ReplyDeleteI got the totes and post cards from vista print: www.vistaprint.com and the buttons and magnets from Zazzle: www.zazzle.com . They have pretty good sales and deals on shipping sometimes. Especially vista print.
My weakness is Pizza Huts pepperoni and extra cheese pan pizza.
ReplyDeleteHard choice. I just love food! LOL. I would say chocolate ice cream is my favorite. The chocolate shop kind is the best. In a cone. Oh goosh I love chocolate Hershey's bars too. Yummy! I love the Ink swag! The book cover is really nioe and the book sounds great.

Hmmm, favorite food...this used to be an easier question, but in recent years I'm on a very restricted diet for medical reasons, so not much good stuff left.:D But I think it's probably a really good baked potato. That's always a treat.:)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great contest, thanks for running it! Beautiful cover on the book, very intriguing.:)
Tara- I love Pizza Huts veggie lover's pan pizza. I'm not a vegetarian, but man it's fantastic! Pepperoni and extra cheese is very yummy too :)
ReplyDeleteKatsrus- Thank you :) I really love the cover. Since this was my first cover ever, I'll probably always have a soft spot for it. And chocolate ice cream...yum. We have a local place that makes frozen custard I absolutely adore. Wow, this contest is starting to make me hungry. So many great foods.
ReplyDeleteRowan Elizabeth- Thank you so much :) It's always hard to know what contests will work and which ones won't. And thank you for your kind words about the cover. As to a good baked potato, I agree, you can't beat em. When I was younger I used to put cheese and butter and sour cream on mine, but now I love them with butter and just a little salt and pepper.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your upcoming release, Chandra! So great to see some of the good stuff coming back to you after all the hard work. :)
ReplyDeleteFavourite food? I adore seafood of any description, but for sweets I love white chocolate Lindt balls. They give me immediate control issues!
Em x
my all time favorite food besides cherry poptarts is
ReplyDeleteravioli home made with the gooey cheese and the maranera sauce mmmm yum
cool contest and congrats on the book release

elove- Thanks :) I'm really excited about the release. Oh, and Lindt balls...I love the cookies and cream (I think is what they're called) ones. With the little pieces of chocolate cookies in them. They have them at our local bookstore three of a dollar or like forty-five cents each. I always get the three for a dollar deal 'cause it's an economically sound decision ;)
ReplyDeleteSiNn- Thanks! This is my first ever contest so I wasn't sure if it'd work, but I'm having a lot of fun with it.
ReplyDeleteI always have to keep poptarts around the house. I love the brown sugar cinnamon ones, but my boys are into the all the different chocolate flavored ones :) They eat the middle of it and then throw away the edges. I've tried to convince them the edges are the best part, but I don't think they're buying it.
I must say chocolate is a big weakness as far as sweets and of course I love pizza and could almost live on that..I try not to. lol. Love your contest prizes..they are awesome. susan L.
ReplyDeleteSusan- Thank you! With pizza there are so many options (thin crust, thick crust, cream sauce, marinara sauce, toppings, etc.) that it's almost possible to have a different type every night and never get sick of it, so I know what you mean. One of my favorite restaurants has a salmon pizza with a cream sauce that's incredible so I can have that even if I've already had a more traditional pizza earlier that week. Gotta love such a versatile food :)
ReplyDeleteRight now I am on a spicy kick...I love blazing Chicken strips from Walmart Deli...($4/LB delish and oh so spicy) tied with this is the Hot and Sour soup from PeiWei...Yum.
ReplyDeleteBut always - chocolate is never a bad idea!
Kimberley-I've never had the blazing chicken strips from Walmart. I'll have to try them the next time I'm out there. I do love Buffalo wings, though, so I bet I'll like them :)
ReplyDeleteId say my favorie food is prob pizza (well actually Beef Wellington if I could ever get it).
ReplyDeleteCongrats Chandra...Cant wait to read your book..yea!
Fried Chicken I love it the problem is that its fating. But i love it my fav is of course my moms cooking of it whit mash potatoes and milk gravy.

Jodi-Thanks for the congrats! I'm starting to get excited about the release :) I've never tried Beef Wellington, but it does sound good. It's on my list of foods to look for at restaurants.
ReplyDeleteStacey- My mom made the best fried chicken ever! I'm not very good at frying anything, though, so my kids won't be able to say the same thing when they're grown-ups :) We do get store fried chicken, though, and it's pretty close to perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for entering. This contest is now closed. I'll announce a winner first thing in the morning :)
